Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a significant and ongoing offensive targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity in the area of the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is not yet known and the US has remained silent.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their air space.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence announced it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the strikes on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That initial attack - executed at around 06:15 GMT - has so far struck locations associated with the the regime, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses engaged the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
The statement noted missile fragments landed in a populated district in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
