A two-month voyage around the Land Down Under was terminated in the wake of the tragic passing of an senior female passenger who was stranded by the cruise liner on a distant island.

The passenger had been walking on the remote island with fellow passengers from the cruise ship, but separated from the party for a break. The ship departed without her and went back later that day after the crew realised the passenger was missing.

An extensive hunt located her person the subsequent day.

She further stated that she hoped the investigation would be able to determine what "the company should have undertaken that might have preserved Her existence".

"According to reports from the authorities that it was a exceptionally warm period, and mother became unwell on the uphill trek," she stated.

"They requested her to head down, unescorted. Then the ship left, apparently without performing a roll call.

"At a certain moment in that process, or soon after, mother succumbed, by herself."

Organization Response

In a statement, the CEO affirmed that the operator was "working closely with authorities to support their inquiry".

He stated that the organization was "deeply sorry that this has transpired" and had provided its full support to the family.
