Around twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the area, producing powerful gusts hitting 109km/h.
Large Ice Stones and Widespread Damage
Locals reported large ice chunks as large as seven centimeters in some areas. Weather authorities announced that multiple regions across the state had been affected by significant hail.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the damaged zones, with nearly 70 crews deployed to manage the widespread outages.
Victorian Storm Challenges
Meanwhile, nearly one thousand energy customers in Victoria also faced power outages after the capital city experienced its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to nearly 600 calls for help across the region, mainly for building damage but also for downed trees and flooding.

At one point on the previous day, more than 28k energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the coast.
The following day was predicted as the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both regions.

Health officials alerted that there was an increased chance of weather-related respiratory issues across the countryside regions, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This alert comes after previous incidents where comparable situations led to significant health impacts in the region.
